My 15 minutes

A few months ago I was contacted by Fitness Magazine asking if I would be interested in being featured in the next issue of “Fat Loss” magazine. They wanted to showcase my journey from a twin pregnancy to the stage. What a question right?!?!?

I remember my first thoughts being “What will I talk about?” and “Why would anyone want to read about me?”. I shared those same concerns with my brother who quickly reminded me of how far I had come, and how much I had accomplished in a short time. His words were simple and to the point… “You have a story to tell and it’s a good one. Don’t forget about all the women you can help by sharing it.”

That is what this piece in Fatloss is all about. Being relatable. Social media is inundated by fitness athletes / models / competitors, both local and international, featuring their fitness accomplishments. Some do so for their own personal gain, and some to motivate and inspire others. I have always followed those that I can relate to and ultimately, have always hoped to pay it forward by doing the same.

The feature in Fat Loss tells my story from dealing with a twin pregnancy, challenges with premature delivery and our stay in NICU, post pregnancy challenges and the slow road back to not only rediscovering my pre pregnancy body but the journey to an improved physique; and my ultimate victory of taking the WBFF Diva Bikini 35+ title in 2015.

More than that, there are other amazing and inspiring stories from other women who have overcome so many obstacles to discover newer, healthier, fitter versions of themselves. There is a great feature on healthy recipes and easy workouts that you can try to kick start your own journey. If you are looking for some motivation, if you need a reason to make a change, do yourself a favour and grab a copy of this mag; you will not be disappointed.

You can also pick up a digital copy on their website:

Thank you so much for your kind words Manuela. The truth is that today is a particularly difficult day for me… morale is low, and I am very under the weather and feeling so demotivated. However your message has reminded me of how far I have come and how much I have to be thankful for… and i am feeling a little better, so Thank You 🙂

Keep in touch – and let me know if you need any nutrition or training assistance with your fitness journey. I currently have a few moms that I working with to regain their pre pregnancy bodies
